Many Kalalau adventurers don't want to pay for a hotel or condo while they're on the trail and need to store their luggage. Here's info on a great option:
Wainiha Country Market
Joëll and her crew can meet hikers early, before they get on the trail, and store luggage on-site in their shopping container, which is securely locked and has 24-hour camera surveillance.
They're conveniently located in Wainiha, 2.5 miles from the trailhead.
Pricing:Â $25 /Â day for the first piece of luggage and $10 /Â day for each additional piece.
They can even provide stove fuel free of charge.
Note on Parking
The parking lot at HÄâena State Park is currently under construction, reducing available parking. Wainiha Country Market has recently added a small number of parking spots. If you're interested in leaving your vehicle there, please note it below.
