Footwear

If there's one thing that's critical to get you to your destination, it's shoes. And then there's your time exploring the Valley (let's hope you're not just going for one night!), and camp. Here's how to support and protect your feet:

Altra Olympus 6 Hike Low GTX shoes

I've tried quite a few different shoes on the trail and these are my favorites. Wide toebox, great support and cushion, waterproof, and impressiveĀ traction. These make the long miles bearable, almost enjoyable!

Keen Hyperport H2Ā sandals

Light and grippy water sandals for crossing streams and hiking up the valley. (Lighter than the classic Newport H2s!)

Xero shoes Cloud sandals

I really liked these sandals for walking around in camp and on the beach which can really heat up and burn the soles of your feet.
